The Origins of Libera Coaching
Jill King was motivated to set up Libera Coaching due to a personal desire to make a direct positive impact on peoples' lives. Prior to doing so she was Managing Director of an art retail business which she decided to leave to pursue a more fulfilling career in coaching.Jill was first introduced to the principles of coaching years previously whilst completing a BSc in Psychology, and further still when she went on to achieve an MSc in Occupational Psychology. For her thesis she worked with a Management Consultancy to research the effect of Executive Coaching on transfer of training. Whilst completing her research Jill interviewed a large sample of individuals who had experienced one to one coaching and was overwhelmed by the positive impact of coaching which they reported.
Whilst Jill would have loved to specialise in coaching at this stage of her career, at only 21 years of age she felt that she lacked sufficient business acumen and experience to fully appreciate the challenges and issues faced by her potential clients. Jill set out to enhance her commercial knowledge in every possible way and went on to work in marketing and recruitment before becoming involved in art retail. Jill always felt however that her potential to help others was not being realised. This niggling feeling would not go away so Jill finally decided to do something about it and made the huge decision to change profession.
Jill trusted her instincts and never looked back. She went on to study with The Coaching Academy and obtained a diploma with distinction in personal coaching. It's over a decade since Jill was first introduced to the coaching profession and both her academic and professional experience make her exceptionally equipped to work with clients on a variety of personal and work issues.
Clients with whom Jill has worked often refer to her positivity, professionalism and enthusiasm which they find contagious and inspiring. They feel safe and at ease to explore their own potential and achieve their goals.
Jill identified what happiness and fulfilment meant to her, how she could achieve it and went for it regardless of others expectations of her. Within her coaching relationships, she enables her clients to do the same and is there to support, motivate and champion them along the way.
'To be able to work with my clients is an absolute privilege and I consider myself extremely fortunate. To see the difference the coaching process makes on their lives and how much they achieve still blows me away!' Jill King.
Jill is a member of The British Psychological Society, the Special Group in Coaching Psychology (SGCP), and The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
